Two Words for Hard Situations {and a giveaway!}

If you spend long enough with me you’re certain to hear me talk about this thing called the She Laughs Conference. With the woman in Proverbs 31:10-31 as the springboard, this conference leads women to live “clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future” Proverbs 31:25 (NLT).

It’s a passion God has fanned in my heart for years. I love to see women walk free and on fire for His Kingdom work.

But there’s something that just doesn’t always seem to cooperate with this idea of laughing without fear of the future …

Reality.

I mean, come on! Some days we open our eyes to raindrops pattering on the windowpane of our souls. Or a full blown thunderstorm. Or hurricane-force winds.

So, what about those days? Do we shove this verse out of our hearts and bring it out only for those “She Laughs” kind of days?

Neither.

Because a “she laughs” life does not hang on our circumstances. It hangs on the One who holds our circumstances.

So those who suffer according to God’s will should, while doing what is good, entrust themselves to a faithful Creator.” 1 Peter 4:19 (HCSB)

Faithful. Creator.

If you’re weathering a storm today, pause long enough to let those words sink in: Faithful. Creator.

Two words that change everything. Those two words are the cornerstone for a life clothed with strength that can laugh without fear of the future.

In the midst of ever-changing, uncertain surprises, those two words remain the same.
