How to Thrive in Life’s Storms

I’m excited to have Mary Southerland joining us on the Best Day Ever podcast today for an enlightening discussion on thriving in life’s storms.

Meet Mary

Women identify with Mary, because she has not only survived the road of clinical depression, infertility, adoption, full-time ministry, sexual abuse, childhood trauma, and the daily stress of life, but has learned to thrive and find joy in the midst of life’s greatest storms.

Mary is also the Co-founder of Girlfriends in God, a conference and devotion ministry for women, working with noted author, Sharon Jaynes and award-winning composer, musician, author, and worship leader, Gwen Smith to encourage and equip women for their life journey.

Crosswalk.com, the largest Christian website in the world, and Bible Gateway hosts the daily devotions with over 1,000,000 readers. You can check their conference schedule and sign up for their free devotions at www.girlfriendsingod.com.

Mary’s books include, Hope in the Midst of DepressionSandpaper People, Escaping the Stress TrapExperiencing God’s Power in Your Ministry, Fit for Life, and 10-Day Trust AdventureYou Make Me So AngryHow to Study the Bible, Fit for Life and Joy for the Journey.

One of Mary’s greatest pleasures is serving beside and teaching with her husband, Dan, Founder of The Movement Group, the author of Transitioning: Leading Your Church Through Change, and mentor to church planters across the country.

Mary relishes her ministry as a wife, a mother to their two children, Jered and Danna, and Mimi to her six grandchildren – Jaydan, Lelia, Justus, Hudson, Mo, and Nori.

Mary’s goal is to leave it all on the playing field of life, skid into heaven with her hair on fire, saying “Wow! What a ride, Lord!”
