What I Learned on Vacation

I’ve recently spent some time separated from the ins and outs of my every day life. A trip to a Christian marriage conference followed by a little vacation in paradise with my guy led to a complete removal from my day to day stuff.

I relished the relaxation and gabbed about the greatness of the time. And, it most certainly was. But I noticed something during this time away … I couldn’t find one thing to write about. Maybe my mind went on vacation, too, or God just wanted to give me total down time. Maybe the crashing waves and whispering palm trees called me to close my computer. But, it makes me smile when I consider another possibility …

God speaks His messages through life’s messes. He teaches us and molds us through daily moments.

Please don’t hear me wrong, my time spent on these trips was A-MAZ-ING! And I would not go back and change it, but I can’t help but consider the value of being at home. Sometimes you find the miracles in the midst of the fog. The connection to your Savior in the chaos of today.

I pray you find rest from your stress and demands. But, more than that, I pray you hear God’s voice wherever you find yourself today.

  1. This is so true!! I believe God makes it possible to “get away” to refresh our souls. He knows to that home is where our heart is and we all need that “”get away” time to appreciate home. Miss you at work out
